What are the responsibilities and job description for the CENTRAL TRANSPORTER position at Johns Hopkins Medicine?
The Central Transporter services the entire hospital, providing safe, efficient and effective transportation of patients, medical equipment and/or supplies.
- Continuously on-call enabling rapid response to customer needs, and allowing direct care services to be provided in a timely manner
- Transports patients throughout the hospital in a manner that maximizes patient comfort, privacy and safety.
- Responsible for transporting supplies, medication, and equipment. Obtains linen and oxygen tanks to be used for patient transport
Hours:
Full Time, 40hrs per week
Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, every other weekend and holiday.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to read and follow directions and complete basic forms
- 1 year of experience in a health care setting providing services to patients is preferred
- Required to manage the functions in the transporter menu of Meditech (pull up master schedule, use email, and use of nurse call)
Salary Range: Minimum 16.58/hour - Maximum 19.16/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
