Restaurant Shift Manager

Job Summary

Duties

• Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service delivery, and cleanliness standards.
• Manage staff schedules, assign tasks, and oversee training and development to ensure team efficiency and professionalism.
• Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and coordinate with suppliers for timely stock replenishment.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and ensure accurate transaction processing.
• Enforce food safety protocols and maintain compliance with health regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster a positive dining environment.
• Support kitchen management by supervising food production, ensuring quality standards are met during all shifts.

Skills

• Proven experience in food service management within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments.
• Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or assistant manager experience in a restaurant setting.
• Excellent knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling expertise required.
• Skilled in inventory control, food safety practices, and managing food production processes.
• Ability to train staff effectively in customer service, food handling, and operational procedures.
• Familiarity with kitchen management, culinary techniques, and food preparation standards.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts efficiently.
