About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Temporary Benefits Analyst to join a collaborative, high-performing team. This role is ideal for a well-rounded benefits professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings expertise across benefits administration, compliance, data analysis, and HR systems.
This position plays a critical role in delivering best-in-class employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance, optimizing processes, and enhancing the overall employee experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
- 8 years of experience in benefits administration and compliance
- Deep knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations (ERISA, COBRA, ACA, etc.)
- Experience supporting multi-state and/or global benefits programs (U.S. Canada a plus)
- Strong proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll systems, and benefits platforms
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing or mentoring team members preferred
- Background in compensation or finance is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, HSA/HRA, disability, life insurance, wellness programs, and retirement plans
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and other regulatory requirements
- Manage COBRA administration, compliance filings (Form 5500, HIRD), and non-discrimination testing
- Draft and distribute Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and compliance notices
- Perform benefits data analysis, benchmarking, and market trend assessments
- Prepare reports and presentations to support strategic benefits planning
- Analyze payroll and funding reports for 401(k) and HSA contributions, resolving discrepancies
- Serve as a subject matter expert on benefits programs and plan administration
- Partner with benefits vendors and third-party administrators to resolve issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HRIS teams, to optimize system functionality
- Manage data within benefits administration systems and HRIS platforms (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce)
- Support system configuration for eligibility, open enrollment, and qualifying life events (QLEs)
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency
- Lead or support open enrollment sessions, benefits education workshops, and employee communications
- Deliver a high standard of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Support and lead benefits-related projects, including new program implementation
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Provide backup support for leave of absence and retirement plan administration
