Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repairs. Your enthusiasm and mechanical knowledge will help guide clients through the service process, recommend additional services through upselling, and ensure a seamless experience from check-in to vehicle pickup. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen to their concerns, and accurately document vehicle issues.
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended repairs and maintenance services, including oil changes, brake repair, transmission work, suspension, tire service, alignment, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and collision repair.
- Use estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates.
- Upsell additional services by identifying customer needs and explaining benefits clearly to enhance vehicle safety and performance.
- Coordinate with technicians and mechanics to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
- Manage service writing tasks efficiently while maintaining detailed records of all transactions and customer interactions.
- Handle cash transactions securely and accurately while providing excellent client communication throughout the service process.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in auto service management within a dealership or independent repair shop.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience or service technician background.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, estimating software, auto estimating procedures, and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignment, collision repair, auto body repair, and Shocks & Struts.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about complex technical issues in a clear manner.
- Experience in upselling services while maintaining integrity and trust with customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles if required.
