Responsibilities:
- Assist with the administration of medications under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Perform routine nursing duties and activities of daily living
- Safely prepare, administer, and chart drugs, following administration protocol and recording administration on resident records
- Report medication errors or reactions and recognize the significance of pulse and blood pressure in drug therapy
- Sign and have access to the controlled schedule drug cabinet
- Assure resident safety and provide direct care as necessary
- Give and receive shift reports, and round twice a shift to ensure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment
- Keep physicians and families informed of changes in resident condition and assist in developing comprehensive care plans
- Maintain self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety for each resident
- Respond to resident emergency call systems
