What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver - Companion - Part-time - Full-time position at John Knox Manor Inc?
John Knox @ Home is looking for a very special caregiver to join our team. This person will be a companion to a wonderful senior needing some extra help around the house and town. This person will accompany him to medical appointments, assist him with housekeeping, take him grocery shopping, cook meals, etc. We are looking for a young minded, fun, responsible person with a great driving record and valid license that can drive his vehicle. Our client is undergoing medical treatments that may cause a decline in ability, caregiver must be mindful of this and ready to help where needed. At this time schedule may be 10am - 7pm 2-3 days a week. Caregiver may pick up other shifts as available, if needed for full-time status.
- Home assistance – Provide light housekeeping, run errands or provide transportation if needed. Accompany clients to appointments and assist with medications. Prepare meals, purchase food and provide personal assistance with general living needs. Personal services could include toileting, bathing, feeding and grooming. Provide any financial aid if needed such as balancing checkbooks, going to the bank or helping the client to pay their bills.
- Companionship – Provide companionship and conversation by stimulating, encouraging and assisting an individual.
Requirements:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report and Drug Screening.
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to drive clients car
- Good communication skills and able to converse with client
