Role Description
The Camp Nurse position is a full-time, on-site role located in Middlefield, CT. Responsibilities include overseeing the health and safety of campers, volunteers and staff, administering medications, providing first aid or care for minor injuries, maintaining medical records, and communicating with families when necessary. The Camp Nurse will also conduct health checks, manage medical supplies, and collaborate with the camp staff to promote a safe environment.
Qualifications
Physcian Assistant (PA),
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Connecticut
- Knowledge of first aid, emergency response, and medication administration
- Record-keeping skills, including maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with campers, staff, volunteers and families
- Ability to work well with others
- Prior experience in a camp or similar setting is a plus
- CPR and First Aid certifications
