Purpose of the Inspector Role
As an Inspector you are taking ownership of helping to restore homes for the communities of people we serve. Inspectors are able to gain a full understanding of what is caused the damage and the extent of damage. Once that is known, it’s your job to help educate people, talking through their options, and explaining our process. You must provide excellent communication, time management and be committed to helping people.
We are looking for someone who
- Has 5 years of on-job experience in a verifiable leadership/management role preferred.
- Has 5 years of experience in a mitigation role.
- Has 5 verifiable customer service skills.
- Is IICRC Water Certified (Fire/Mold/Asbestos).
- Can function in a high stress environment that can change daily.
- Has excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Can work independently.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Perform home and building inspections.
- Demonstrate knowledge of construction, mitigation, and job-site safety
- Ability to pinpoint the source of damage during the inspection.
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in an effective manner to homeowners who may be unfamiliar with construction terminology and process.
- Communicate effectively to team members and homeowners about expectations and process.
- Work with Lead Tech/Tech to complete approved scope of work and communicate any changes or issues.
- Work to develop other team members.
- Work on jobsites as needed and maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Flexible to adjustments in the daily schedule to take care of the highest priority inspections.
- Maintain constant and clear communication with the John Grace Office and Customers.
- Work week is typically 40-45 hours a week, not expected to exceed 50 hours during busy times.
Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is a very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
- Candidate for employment must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
- Candidate must pass a criminal background check to perform work on insurance related claims.
- Basic knowledge of smartphone/email technology.

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
