Purpose of the Mover Role
As a Mover, you’ll be participating in the “pack out” process, assisting our clients to ensure their possessions are safely removed, stored and returned once our restoration process is complete.
We are looking for someone who
- Takes pride in their work. Experience in this field is desired but not required. We will train the right people!
- Is able to function in a high stress environment that can change daily.
- Can repeatedly lift and carry heavy items up to 75 lbs
- Is able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel and crouch in order to lift items
- Has superior communication skills, able to communicate with teammates, management, and homeowners.
- Is open-minded and has an innovative attitude towards cleaning. Be able to provide and receive feedback regarding processes.
- Is willing to tackle tasks from start to finish, whether they are of different varieties or the same monotonous action for several weeks at a time.
- Reports to work on time
Key responsibilities & duties
- Communicate clearly and professionally with Manager, teammates, and homeowners. Uphold John Grace’s professional reputation.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety procedures.
- Properly secure, wrap and categorize all homeowner possessions.
- Load and unload homeowner possessions into truck/trailer as well as at company storage facility
- Removal of any remaining debris on homeowner possessions
- Upon pack out completion, perform general on-location cleaning and deodorization of personal property
- Provide detailed notes and photos using company’s digital record keeping system
- Drive company vehicle to and from job-sites
- Accurately record homeowner possessions into online database
- Properly use company HiLo forklift in storage facility - training and certification provided by the Company
- Company vehicles and provided tools must be treated with respect and kept clean and organized.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move items 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
- Must pass a criminal background check to perform work on insurance related claims.
- Basic knowledge of smartphone/email technology.
