Associate Product Manager

Summary of Position

The Associate Product Manager plays a hands-on leadership role in delivering private brand strategies and initiatives that drive JBSS volume and profit growth. This position is a key contributor to product commercialization and pricing execution. The role is critical in enabling strategic priorities that diversify our portfolio and support profitable growth.

*This position is 4 days a week on-site in Elgin, IL. *

Functions of the Position

• Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to lead the commercialization process.
• Oversees new product and SKU development by managing artwork workflows, coordinating RFPs, handling sample requests, and ensuring timely follow-up.
• Facilitates cross-functional teams and project-related meetings.
• Works closely with marketing and pricing teams on new and existing product pricing to maintain or improve JBSS margins.
• Manages packaging changes, including discontinuations or transitions related to structure, graphics, or ingredient updates, in partnership with relevant functions.
• Partners with sales and marketing to leverage consumer insights and category data to inform customer strategies, including optimal assortment, new product ideas, pricing, and retail merchandising.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline preferred
• 1–2 years of prior work experience, preferably in private brands and ideally with a CPG/food company
• Basic knowledge of new product launches and commercialization

• Strong project management skills
• Solid financial acumen
• Demonstrated team leadership, agility, and ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail, math aptitude, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
