Position Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for championing product quality and compliance on the manufacturing floor of our nicotine pouch facility. This role performs in-process and finished product inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure all products meet internal specifications and regulatory requirements (CFR 21 Parts 111, 117 and 1120). The Quality Technician partners closely with Production, Sanitation, and Warehouse teams to maintain quality standards, support investigations, and promote continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and finished product inspections on nicotine pouches, packaging, and components
  • Verify manufacturing records for completeness in real-time, acting as the floor-level enforcer of ALCOA data integrity principles
  • Conduct routine quality checks including weight, seal integrity, fill accuracy, labeling, and packaging verification
  • Collect samples and perform required quality tests according to established specifications and SOPs
  • Document inspection and test results accurately and in a timely manner
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials or products; assist with segregation and disposition processes
  • Support investigations into deviations, out-of-specification results, and customer or internal quality issues
  • Continuously monitor the production floor to ensure strict adherence to gowning, hygiene, sanitation, and allergen-segregation policies.
  • Monitor critical control points and quality checkpoints on production lines
  • Calibrate and verify inspection and testing equipment as required
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and sanitation verification activities
  • Support internal audits and regulatory inspections as needed
  • Work with Production to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
  • Maintain organized quality records and sample retention areas
  • Stop or escalate production when serious quality or safety risks are identified, following escalation procedures

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience supporting/executing quality inspection and testing practices in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience operating under FDA regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and with a proven track record for documentation accuracy
  • Ability to identify defects and nonconformances in product and packaging
  • Basic understanding of GMP and quality systems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use physical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, tension scales) and basic laboratory bench equipment.
  • Comfort working actively on a fast-paced production floor for extended periods, rather than strictly at a desk.
  • Uncompromising integrity and the ability to make sound, independent quality decisions and hold the line on compliance under production pressure.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or quality assurance in manufacturing
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as nicotine, tobacco, food & beverage, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or any other CPG manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Science, or a related field
  • Experience with GMP, preventive controls, and audit environments
  • Familiarity with statistical sampling and basic quality tools
  • Experience with quality management systems and electronic documentation
  • Internal audit or quality certification training (e.g., HACCP, PCQI, or similar)
  • Previous experience conducting Environmental Monitoring (swabbing and plating) in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing space.

Requirements

This position requires the ability to possess federally regulated products. Applicants of this position must be 21 years of age at the time of hire.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
