Duties
- Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and removal using appropriate tools such as chainsaws and hand tools.
- Support arborists with rigging techniques to safely lower large branches or trees.
- Operate bucket trucks and other equipment to access difficult-to-reach areas safely.
- Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols during all operations.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including lawn care, planting, and general landscape upkeep.
- Support tree care initiatives by applying knowledge of arborist rigging techniques and tree removal procedures.
- Maintain equipment such as chainsaws, bucket trucks, and rigging gear in excellent condition through proper care and safety checks.
Skills
- Strong outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture.
- Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, and plant health assessment.
- Proficiency with equipment such as chainsaws, bucket trucks, and rigging gear.
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping or site planning is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously during all tree work activities.
- Experience with arborist rigging techniques for safe tree removal or branch lowering.
- Growing experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture is desirable.
- Good physical condition with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
