Responsibilities
- Safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and climbing gear to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks.
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches or perform landscape work efficiently.
- Conduct rigging operations for tree removals or limb disassembly using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Perform tree care activities including pruning, trimming, planting, and general landscape maintenance to promote healthy growth.
- Use chainsaws and other power tools safely for cutting branches, removing deadwood, or clearing debris.
- Assist with lawn care and landscape upkeep to maintain the overall health and appearance of outdoor spaces.
- Apply knowledge of dendrology (the study of trees) and horticulture principles to ensure proper plant care and growth.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including GIS (Geographic Information System) data when applicable for mapping or planning purposes.
Experience
- Prior experience in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture is highly preferred; growing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with bucket truck operation and aerial lift safety procedures.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for safe tree removal or limb disassembly.
- Hands-on experience with chainsaws, pruning tools, and plant care practices.
- Understanding of dendrology (tree species identification) and landscape maintenance best practices.
- Ability to work at heights safely while following all safety protocols.
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to climb trees, operate equipment, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
