Job Description

Joe’s on Newbury is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support daily kitchen and restaurant operations. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a clean and organized dishwashing area. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to cleanliness, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the commercial dishwasher safely and follow established cleaning procedures.
• Keep the dishwashing station clean, organized, and properly supplied.
• Sort and store clean dishes, utensils, and cookware in designated areas.
• Clean sinks, counters, floors, and other assigned kitchen areas.
• Remove trash and help maintain proper sanitation throughout the shift.
• Restock clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen supplies as needed.
• Assist kitchen staff with routine cleaning and support tasks.
• Monitor dishwashing supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Help maintain a clean and safe kitchen during busy service periods.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine restaurant cleaning duties.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and restaurant team members.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher, kitchen, restaurant, or food-service experience is helpful.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to learn kitchen cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Able to perform routine dishwashing and cleaning duties throughout a shift.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Professional and dependable approach to work.
