We are seeking a motivated **Junior Metallurgist** to join our client's mining operations team in Gouverneur, New York. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career metallurgist to contribute to mineral processing, quality assurance, laboratory operations, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities for assay laboratory and mill operations.
* Monitor milling processes to maximize production efficiency, recovery, and product quality.
* Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot production issues.
* Provide technical support to operators, millwrights, and laboratory personnel.
* Conduct metallurgical testing on new ore bodies, reagents to improve recoveries.
* Design, coordinate, and supervise plant sampling programs and surveys.
* Prepare daily metallurgical reports and maintain accurate operational records.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
* Minimum of **3 years of hands-on experience** in mineral processing, metallurgy, or mining operations.
* Knowledge of mineral processing techniques, including:
* Flotation
* Gravity Separation
* Magnetic Separation
* Ability to interpret production data, laboratory results, and performance metrics.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical reporting.
