Role: Senior UX Developer

Location: Boston, MA or Portsmouth, NH (Preferred)

About The Role

Enterprise Experience (XD) Design Team is seeking a Senior UX Developer with strong front-end development and prototyping experience to help design and build enterprise employee experiences used across the organization.

This role sits at the intersection of UX design and UI engineering. You will work hands-on with React/TypeScript, create high-fidelity coded prototypes, translate Figma designs into reusable components, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to deliver scalable, accessible, and performant internal tools.

You will also apply AI tooling (Claude, GPT, etc.) to accelerate ideation, prototype scaffolding, code refactoring, and documentation-always with responsible, human-in-the-loop review.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build user-centered enterprise experiences
• Develop high-fidelity coded prototypes using React and TypeScript
• Translate Figma design patterns into reusable UI components and design tokens
• Implement and maintain design systems and tokenized component libraries
• Create and maintain Markdown-based documentation, including:
• Component usage guidelines
• Instructional guides
• Prompt recipes and reusable LLM workflows
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Researchers
• Use Claude, GPT, or similar LLM tools to accelerate design/development workflows
• Ensure UI quality through accessibility (WCAG/ARIA) and performance-minded development
• Present design and technical solutions to senior stakeholders
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5 years experience as a UX Engineer / Front-End Developer / Design Technologist
• 5 years coordinating or delivering small to medium-scale projects
• Proven experience building coded UI prototypes (portfolio required)
• Strong proficiency in:
• HTML, CSS/SCSS
• JavaScript / TypeScript
• Production experience with React (Angular or Vue.js acceptable)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong understanding of:
• Visual design principles
• White space, typography, grid systems
• Information architecture
• Hands-on experience collaborating from Figma
• Demonstrated experience with design tokens and theming
• Experience creating Markdown documentation for UI systems
• Experience using Claude, GPT, or similar LLMs in design/development workflows
• Accessibility foundations (WCAG, ARIA)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
  
  

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, or related field
• Storybook (or similar) for component documentation
• Token tooling (Style Dictionary, Tokens Studio, etc.)
• UI testing tools (RTL, Jest, Cypress)
• Experience with enterprise, finance, or data-heavy applications
• Familiarity with enterprise release cycles
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• Ability to work independently with a high level of customer service
