About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in OLAP architecture and enterprise data modeling tools to join a high-impact data team within a leading banking and financial services environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise banking and financial services data domains
- Architect and implement OLAP-based data structures including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and data marts to support business intelligence and reporting requirements
- Use Erwin Data Modeler and ER/Studio as primary tools for creating, managing, and versioning enterprise data models
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and downstream consumers to understand data requirements and translate them into accurate and scalable data models
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage documentation, and metadata repositories
- Work closely with ETL/ELT teams to ensure data models are implemented accurately in the data warehouse and downstream systems
- Perform impact analysis for data model changes and communicate implications to technical and business stakeholders
- Enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and best practices across the organization
- Conduct model reviews and provide guidance and feedback to junior data modelers and analysts
- Ensure data models comply with banking regulatory requirements, data governance policies, and security standards
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and reviews
- Produce clear and concise technical documentation, presentations, and model specifications for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in data modeling within large-scale enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in OLAP architecture including star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modeling concepts
- Hands-on proficiency with Erwin Data Modeler - conceptual, logical, and physical model development
- Hands-on proficiency with ER/Studio for enterprise data model design and management
- Strong SQL skills for data validation, querying, and model verification across relational databases
- Experience working in banking, financial services, or other heavily regulated industries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to present complex data concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data governance, and metadata management
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including data engineering, BI, and business stakeholders
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Azure Synapse
- Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, or IBM IGC
- Knowledge of banking data domains including retail banking, lending, risk, compliance, or finance
- Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and sprint-based project execution
- Experience with data lineage and cataloging tools
