We have a long term contract position for a - SDET with a financial client.

We have 2 locations - Chicago, IL & Dallas, TX

This would be Hybrid role 2-3 days onsite in either of the locaitons - Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong experience in manual testing, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. The ideal candidate will ensure high product quality through a blend of hands-on testing, test automation, and continuous integration practices.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Testing

• Analyze business and functional requirements to create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts
• Validate UI, API, and database-level functionality
  
  

Automation Testing (SDET Focus)

• Design and develop automation test scripts using tools like:
• Selenium WebDriver / Cypress / Playwright
• TestNG / JUnit / PyTest
• Build and maintain test automation frameworks (Hybrid, Data-driven, BDD)
• Automate API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate
• Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Perform code reviews and improve test coverage
  
  

Jenkins & CI/CD

• Configure and manage Jenkins jobs/pipelines for automated test execution
• Integrate test suites with CI/CD workflows
• Schedule and trigger automated regression runs
• Analyze build results and test reports
• Work with DevOps teams to optimize pipeline performance
  
  

Required Skills

Core Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC
• Experience in manual and automation testing
• Programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Experience with test frameworks and automation tools
  
  

CI/CD & Tools

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins
• Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (nice to have)
  
  

Testing Types
