You ll also bring your data-driven curiosity to measure and report on key metrics and recommend improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS and JavaScript
- Implement responsive, accessible product pages, collection pages, lookbooks and promotional landing pages tailored for fashion merchandising (size guides, multiple variants, swatches, outfit bundles)
- Integrate and configure Shopify apps and third party services (payments, shipping, ERP/PIM, CRM, analytics, upsell/subscriptions)
- Build and optimize PDP features: variant logic, dynamic pricing, size/fit tools, product recommendations, cross sell & bundling
- Improve site performance, SEO and Core Web Vitals; implement lazy loading, critical CSS, image optimization and caching strategies
- Collaborate with design, merchandising, marketing and operations to deploy campaigns, launches and A/B tests on schedule
- Maintain code quality with version control (Git), code reviews and a staging production deployment workflow
- Troubleshoot issues, monitor site health, and respond to incidents to ensure uptime during peak traffic (drops, promotions)
- Document implementations and hand off knowledge to internal teams
- Primary Skill Needed: 3 5 years of Shopify Development experience
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and integration
- Tools: Experience using tools like Klaviyo, Ahrefs, BigQuery and A/B testing tools to analyze and suggest site improvements
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to see the bigger picture of what you are programming and why
- 3 years working with Shopify/Shopify Plus and customizing themes
- Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS/SCSS and modern JS (ES6 ); familiarity with frameworks like React/Next.js a plus
- Experience integrating APIs and Shopify apps (fulfillment, subscriptions, headless setups)
- Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and performance optimization
- Familiarity with ecommerce best practices: conversion funnels, AOV uplift tactics, merchandising logic for apparel (size/fit, multi-SKU management)
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD concepts and working in agile/scrum teams
- Excellent problem solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus features (Script Editor, Flow, Launchpad) or headless commerce
- Familiarity with PIM/ERP integrations, inventory sync, and omnichannel retail flows
- Basic knowledge of SEO technical audits and tracking setup (GA4, GTM)
- Prior experience in fashion retail or DTC apparel brands
