In this role, you will join a Mainframe Production Support team supporting critical applications in a highly specialized environment. This position requires strong hands-on mainframe application support experience and the ability to work in a follow-the-sun model alongside an offshore team, providing Level 2/3 production support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2/3 production support for critical applications
- Monitor production systems to ensure system stability and uptime
- Analyze and troubleshoot failed mainframe jobs (JCL)
- Perform root cause analysis and support ad hoc job executions
- Partner with Production Control to restart and recover failed jobs
- Respond to business user requests and application team needs
- Maintain and update incident tracking in ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence
- Monitor and respond to application group mailboxes
- Document incidents, resolutions, and create JIRA stories for follow-up
- 5 years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience
- Strong experience in Mainframe Production Support (application support)
- Experience with JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, CA7, IDCAMS, and Mainview
- Proficiency with file tools such as File Manager, File Analyzer, and EZTRIEV
- Experience with ticketing and documentation tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence or similar)
- Ability to work in a high-volume, production-critical environment
- Experience with Dynatrace Application Performance Monitoring
- Experience with MQ
