Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to support a highly complex, mission-critical Oracle environment with 24/7 uptime requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Multitenant Architecture, Data Guard, APEX, Enterprise Manager (OEM), and Oracle infrastructure administration. This role will serve as a technical gatekeeper, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise Oracle systems supporting critical business operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support mission-critical Oracle database environments with high availability requirements.
• Review and approve database-related requests from application and infrastructure teams.
• Monitor database and server health through proactive alert review, log analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Databases, RAC, Data Guard, Clusterware, and Multitenant environments.
• Install, configure, patch, and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Support Oracle APEX environments (database tier administration).
• Perform Oracle system administration, hardware support, and infrastructure maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database crashes, performance issues, and availability concerns.
• Develop and maintain monitoring solutions using OEM metric extensions, templates, and advanced monitoring capabilities.
• Automate operational and administrative processes wherever possible.
• Work closely with application teams to maintain Oracle client and server drivers.
• Manage Oracle Support cases and coordinate with Oracle Support services.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Mentor and train junior database administrators and support staff.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of Oracle Database Administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Multitenant Architecture, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Experience administering Oracle APEX environments.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle installation, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.
• Experience with Oracle hardware, firmware, clusterware, and operating system administration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for database performance, replication, and system failures.
• Experience supporting 24x7 production environments with strict uptime requirements.
• Strong scripting and automation experience.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare, public sector, utility, or other mission-critical environments.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata and advanced Oracle monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, change management, and operational governance.
• Experience leading Oracle infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives.
