Summary:

This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager and is responsible for new program development and maintenance of existing mobile, web, cloud, and server computing systems. The role involves significant collaboration with Agile teams and participation in Scrum activities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile team activities and Scrum ceremonies.
• Perform programming, development, integration, and system administration assignments independently.
• Design, code, test, and debug programs of high complexity.
• Configure or customize purchased software solutions with high complexity.
• Provide leadership and guidance to other team members in project management, programming, and systems administration.
• Identify and resolve complex application/technical problems, including off-shift and weekend support calls.
• Develop major system modules, programs, or infrastructure releases based on customer requirements.
• Conduct integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of system components.
• Perform integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased hardware and software solutions.
• Assist customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of experience; or a Master’s degree plus 8 years of experience.
• 10 years or more of software development experience, or at least 8 years with a master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 10 years or more of experience in designing and developing software applications in Java, or at least 8 years with a master’s degree.
• At least three years of experience developing in AWS, including cloud formation templates, deploying ECS clusters, Lambda, Fargate, Amazon Elastic Search, and S3.
  
  

Desired Skills

• Experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with application architectural patterns like MVC, Microservices, and Event-driven architecture.
• Experience deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, ideally Scrum.
• Experience with batch or stream processing systems such as AWS SQS, AWS SNS, or Kinesis.
• Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs and using API tools like Swagger, Postman, and Assertible.
• Experience with test-driven development and behavior-driven development.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber.
• Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to lead architectural designs and work across teams to develop solutions.
  
  

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $87.00 - $88.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
