The Senior Globalscape MFT Engineer (Consultant) will lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-grade Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions using Globalscape EFT. This temporary consulting role demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience in architecting scalable, secure, and resilient MFT environments that meet complex business and compliance requirements. While this role does not include team management responsibilities, the consultant is expected to train and coach internal team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of MFT solutions using Globalscape EFT, including DMZ Gateway, RAM agents, and AWE configurations.
- Define and implement high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for MFT infrastructure.
- Develop and deploy secure file transfer workflows across internal and external systems using SFTP, FTP, FTPS, HTTPS.
- Integrate MFT with enterprise platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Kafka, etc.) and support API-based automation.
- Provide L3 support for production incidents, emergency break-fix, and minor enhancements.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA), patching, certificate management, and log maintenance.
- Support internal audits, periodic access reviews (PAR), and end-of-life upgrades.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles for operational transparency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including network, infrastructure, and application support.
- Train and coach internal team members on MFT best practices and tools.
- Advanced configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of EFT Server, DMZ Gateway, expert level AWE code development and workflows that allow heavy customization for a variety of file transfer scenarios, and expert level performance tuning (parallelism, memory, channels, etc).
- Deep understanding of SFTP, FTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, encryption/decryption, and key management.
- Deep understanding of Operating Systems, File Systems, Network Adapters, Network Interface Cards, IO, latency, throughput, frame size, block size, bandwidth, etc.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Unix shell scripting, github, and integration & automation tools like Harness, Terraform, and SLM release.
- Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk and DataDog) performance tuning, and incident response.
- Ability to maintain Confluence pages, dashboards, and JIRA workflows for visibility and governance.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and lead initiatives.
- 10 years in IT with at least 5 years focused on MFT technologies.
- Proven track record in designing and deploying complex MFT solutions in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with audit processes, access control, and compliance frameworks.
