Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects from preliminary drawings and specifications.
- Analyze and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications to understand the scope of work to bid.
- Use CAD software to create roofing designs and layouts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and plans.
- Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to ensure accurate understanding of project conditions and requirements.
- Present prepared estimates to clients and stakeholders, explaining and defending cost estimates as needed.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and pricing to ensure our company remains competitive.
- Participate in contract negotiations, change order discussions, and project hand-off meetings.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the commercial roofing or construction industry.
- Proven expertise in CAD, roofing, project estimating, cost estimating, and estimating.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in using estimating software and technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of relevant construction laws and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
