- Experience: Minimum 8 years in ETL development / software engineering, with strong experience specifically in DataStage.
- Databases: Proficiency with Oracle, DB2 (or other relational databases); strong skills in PL/SQL / SQL stored procedures / views / triggers.
- Tools/Technologies:
- DataStage (job design, parallel processing, reusable components)
- SFTP / secure file transfer protocols
- BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouse tools
- Unix / Linux shell scripting and scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Cron)
- Performance & Optimization: Experience in tuning ETL jobs, optimizing SQL queries, managing resource usage, job concurrency, etc.
- Testing & Quality: Ability to create test plans, perform unit/integration/regression testing, and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Documentation: Strong skills in documenting technical designs, test cases, data flows, release plans.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Experience coordinating between onsite/offshore teams, providing technical oversight, mentoring, and guiding code reviews.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Comfort with troubleshooting complex data issues; good risk awareness; attention to detail.
