We are seeking a Senior SingleStore (MemSQL) Database Administrator to manage and optimize large-scale distributed database environments supporting mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SingleStore/MemSQL cluster administration, performance tuning, high availability architectures, and petabyte-scale data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, administer, and maintain large-scale SingleStore (MemSQL) clusters.
• Manage distributed database environments handling multi-terabyte to petabyte-scale datasets.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, availability, and capacity utilization.
• Perform cluster expansion, node provisioning, partition rebalancing, and infrastructure scaling.
• Lead database upgrades, migrations, patching, and lifecycle management.

• Design and optimize shard keys, partitioning strategies, and data distribution models.
• Identify and resolve data skew, hot partitions, and query bottlenecks.
• Optimize indexing strategies, execution plans, memory utilization, and workload distribution.
• Perform advanced SQL tuning and database performance analysis.
• Configure connection management, thread allocation, and resource governance.

• Design and maintain highly available database architectures.
• Implement replication, failover, failback, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manage cross-region replication and business continuity strategies.

• Automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• 10 years of database administration and engineering experience.
• 4 years of hands-on experience administering SingleStore (MemSQL) clusters in production environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• Aggregator and Leaf Node architecture
• Partitioning and shard key design
• Cluster expansion and rebalancing
• Replication and failover management
• Query performance tuning
• Index optimization
• Memory and resource management
• Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience diagnosing:
• Data skew
• Hot partitions
• Locking/contention issues
• Inefficient execution plans
• Strong Linux administration and performance tuning experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and incident management skills.
