Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)

Job Description:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server 2016 databases across on-prem and Azure environments.
• Configure and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and point-in-time restore.
• Ensure database security through Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and compliance with state standards.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning, indexing, and optimization.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, and migration to newer versions or cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for database maintenance and backups.
• Support application teams in database design, performance improvement, and issue resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide production support as needed.
