Position: Systems Engineer III
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer III to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. This position supports systems integration and testing for the DRAKE system. DRAKE is a portable, electromagnetic warfare jammer designed to protect Navy ships and personnel by detecting and defeating small unmanned aerial systems (UAS). DRAKE often acts in combination with the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (JCREW) system to protect against both drones and electronic threats. You will be working onsite in a fast paced and dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential. SECRET to CLEARANCE Requirement: Interim Secret to start. Continued employment contingent upon favorable final Secret clearance.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test procedures, cases, and plans under established guidance
Support Developmental Testing, including lab, integration, and limited field testing
Assist in defining and applying Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Measures of Performance (MOPs)
Perform data collection/analysis to assess system functionality and performance
Document test results, discrepancies, and observations in support of engineering and program teams
Support requirements verification and traceability activities
Assist in test event planning and coordination, including setup and execution
Collaborate with systems engineering, software, and integration teams to support test readiness
Prepare technical documentation and reports
Ensure adherence to test procedures, safety requirements, and configuration control processes
Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
5 -7 years of relevant experience in test and evaluation, systems engineering, or related discipline
Familiarity with test execution and documentation practices
Basic experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python)
Experience supporting DoD or federal programs
Exposure to DT/OT environments
Familiarity with TEMP or similar test documentation
Interim secret clearance required to start. Secret clearance must be obtained and retained. May eventually need a Top Secret TS/SCI
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace) or related field
