Senior CAD Designer

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $55.00 USD Hourly

Overview

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer to support advanced design and documentation efforts. This role involves creating detailed drawings and 2D/3D models while translating complex customer and engineering requirements into accurate design outputs.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain sketches, working drawings, and contract documents using CAD software
• Develop high-quality 2D and 3D models aligned with project and customer specifications
• Interpret and apply detailed customer requirements, data sheets, and supplier specifications
• Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Prepare and maintain supporting design documentation
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance
• Apply established drafting standards, engineering concepts, and industry terminology
  
  

Qualifications

• 8 years of professional experience in CAD design or drafting
• Strong proficiency with CAD tools and the client's specific design application
• Solid understanding of drafting techniques and engineering fundamentals
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements
• High level of attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience preparing designs for contract or production-ready documentation
• Exposure to multiple CAD platforms or advanced modeling environments
