This role will focus on aligning SAP GM/FM processes with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) funding requirements, ensuring accurate grant lifecycle management, budget control, expenditure tracking, and audit-ready reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the current SAP Grants Management and Public Sector FM landscape to identify process and compliance gaps
- Design a strategic roadmap to align SAP GM/FM with FHWA funding, reimbursement, and audit requirements
- Define grant, fund, sponsored program, and expenditure tracking structures for federally funded transportation programs
- Configure and optimize SAP GM, FM, budget control, derivation rules, and reporting structures
- Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations, audit standards, and public sector reporting requirements
- Partner with finance, budgeting, transportation, and grants administration teams to gather business requirements
- Recommend enhancements to data models, organizational structures, master data, and business processes
- Support workshops, design sessions, gap analysis, and solution documentation
- Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, reporting, and downstream finance processes
- Provide best practices for grant lifecycle management, closeout, and reimbursement tracking
- 8 years of SAP functional consulting experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP Grants Management (GM)
- Deep experience with SAP Public Sector Funds Management (FM)
- Experience with budget control, AVC, derivation strategies, and federal reporting
- Strong understanding of public sector finance and grant compliance
- Experience supporting government agencies, transportation, or infrastructure programs
- Knowledge of FHWA, DOT, or federal transportation funding processes
- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
- Excellent documentation, roadmap planning, and gap analysis experience
