Position Overview
The RF Digital Test Technician provides technical support to engineering teams in production, research, and development environments. This role involves performing complex, non-routine assignments related to the layout, testing, troubleshooting, modification, and repair of advanced electronic subsystems and systems. The technician works under general direction from engineering staff and contributes to the development, validation, and improvement of electronic hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support to engineering personnel across research, development, and production activities.
- Construct, modify, test, troubleshoot, repair, and debug complex precision electronic subsystems and systems.
- Perform tests and experiments on electronic systems and subsystems by following defined test procedures and requirements.
- Analyze test results and document findings; recommend design changes or equipment modifications to improve system performance.
- Compile, review, analyze, and present complex technical and engineering data in support of engineering objectives.
- Utilize computer-aided design, test, and analysis tools as required.
- Operate and maintain RF and electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, meters, network analyzers, and calibration tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other related technical duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support alternate work schedules when business needs require.
- Strong experience constructing, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting complex electronic circuits and assemblies using fundamental electrical and electronic design concepts.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot highly complex electronic, electromechanical, and RF assemblies and systems using specialized diagnostic and inspection tools.
- Hands-on RF test and debug experience, including use of scopes, meters, network analyzers, and electronic calibration equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering requirements accurately.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical data to support engineering decisions.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and operating environments (e.g., Windows and/or Linux).
- High School diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years of relevant technical experience, or completion of a military technical "A" school or equivalent training.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required by program needs.
- Ability to work in a laboratory, production, or R&D environment.
- Willingness to occasionally work off-shift, weekends, or extended hours to support operational requirements.
- Ability to pass standard pre-employment screening processes, including background checks and drug screening, as applicable.
