Position: Release manager

Location: Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, or Pennington, NJ ( Hybrid)

Duration: 36 Months contract

Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle including planning, scheduling, coordination, deployment, and post-release validation
• Define and maintain release calendars, schedules, and roadmaps across multiple applications and teams
• Coordinate releases across development, QA, UAT, and production environments
• Ensure adherence to enterprise release management standards, policies, and compliance requirements
• Track and manage release dependencies, risks, and cross-team impacts
• Plan and execute detailed cutover activities including runbooks, timelines, rollback strategies, and contingency plans
• Lead release bridges and war rooms during deployments and high-impact releases
• Coordinate go-live activities and ensure successful production deployments
• Validate deployment readiness including environment stability, approvals, and artifact availability
• Oversee post-release verification and production support handoff
• Utilize ServiceNow and Remedy for change, incident, and release management processes
• Manage release tracking, backlog alignment, and issue resolution using Jira
• Maintain release documentation, runbooks, and knowledge repositories in Confluence
• Ensure proper change approvals, audit trails, and compliance documentation are maintained
• Standardize release processes and continuously improve deployment workflows
• Provide release support during production deployments including triage and issue resolution
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve release-related incidents
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and post-implementation reviews for failed or degraded releases
• Ensure proper escalation and communication during critical incidents
• Support high-volume, large-scale releases across multiple applications
• Act as the central point of coordination between business, development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams
• Communicate release status, risks, and impacts to stakeholders and leadership
• Facilitate release readiness meetings and go/no-go decision checkpoints
• Align release activities with Agile/Scrum delivery cycles
• Ensure clear documentation of release scope, timelines, and deliverables
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
• Strong experience in Release Management and full release lifecycle ownership
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and Remedy for change and incident management
• Experience using Jira for release tracking and Confluence for documentation
• Proven experience managing cutover activities and large-scale production deployments
• Experience supporting enterprise-level applications across multiple environments
• Strong understanding of release governance, risk management, and compliance
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Desired skills:

• Experience in financial services or regulated environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-application releases
• Knowledge of infrastructure and application architectures (web, database, middleware)
• ITIL certification or familiarity with IT service management frameworks
• Experience leading release bridges and incident command activities
