Position Overview:
The Controls Engineer will support the design, development, integration, and validation of automotive control systems on prototype ECU platforms such as Speedgoat. The role involves defining hardware & communication architecture, developing MATLAB/Simulink models, integrating control software with bench systems, validating functionality, and supporting customer personnel during commissioning and operation.
The engineer will work closely with OEM System engineers, software engineers, validation engineers, manufacturing teams, using existing Speedgoat or Micro-Autobox hardware and test benches as a baseline prototyping setup to deliver enhanced, robust, and scalable control solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and document hardware & communication architecture between sensors, actuators, prototype ECUs running experimental software, using and updating Boundary Diagrams, Interface Specifications, and Schematics.
Perform HIL bench commissioning and flashing software on Speedgoat or MicroAutoBox platforms.
Conduct Component Compatibility Assessments to confirm prototype ECU I/O suitability for all sensor and actuator components required for a subsystem.
Design, develop, and validate MATLAB/Simulink models targeted for Speedgoat real-time execution.
Integrate developed models into the prototype ECU and install it on test benches, ensuring communication with IPEMotion or Vector Data Acquisition systems.
Utilize CANape, CANoe, or IPEMotion software for calibration, diagnostics, data acquisition, and functional validation.
Interpret boundary diagrams, wiring schematics, and interface definitions for correct system integration.
Execute bench validation, replicate issues, and support debugging and root cause analysis.
