We are looking for an experienced and licensed Structural Engineer to join our team in northern Colorado. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to lead structural engineering projects, mentor drafting teams, and ensure high-quality deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in residential and light commercial construction design, as well as a passion for collaboration and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and calculation of structural systems for residential and light commercial construction projects.
Prepare and review comprehensive calculation packages and provide feedback on technical drawings.
Mentor and oversee drafting teams to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Seal multiple project documents weekly while collaborating effectively with team members.
Coordinate with architects, stakeholders, and other professionals to align project goals and requirements.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and project quality.
Establish and implement best practices for structural engineering deliverables.
Support the Project Manager or Lead Engineer in achieving project objectives.
Contribute to the development of high-end custom home designs.
Utilize technical tools such as AutoCAD and SketchUp to enhance project workflows.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering with attention to detail.
Active Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain one.
Proven ability to produce detailed calculations and technical documentation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp for design and drafting purposes.
Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial construction processes.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with diverse teams.
