Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Product Finance Engineer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.
This assignment is anticipated to be a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Product Finance Engineer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.

Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with engineering, purchasing, product planning, and finance teams to manage product cost targets across the full product lifecycle.
- Develop product cost forecasts and detailed cost analyses for early-phase and start-cost initiatives, identifying cost risks and opportunities.
- Translate overall cost targets into system- and component-level cost requirements.
- Drive design-to-cost initiatives, influencing technical and feature decisions to improve product value and cost competitiveness.
- Collaborate across multiple commodities and stakeholders to balance quality, delivery, cost, features, and sustainability considerations.
- Act as a cost and value advocate, supporting data-driven trade-off decisions between features and affordability.
- Build, maintain, and refine cost models using established financial tools and processes.
- Support continuous improvement in cost management through benchmarking, analytics, and digital tools.
- Promote cost transparency and awareness by sharing best practices and supporting cross-functional knowledge development.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Strong analytical background, including financial modeling, variance analysis, and cost breakdown structures.
- Ability to interpret technical or engineering data and clearly translate it into financial insights and recommendations.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments with engineering and business stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decision-making across disciplines.
