Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Engineer - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role sits at the intersection of database engineering, platform engineering, and infrastructure architecture, and is ideal for an engineer who can combine deep technical expertise with a product mindset for internal platform consumers. The focus is on resilience, usability, automation, API-driven integration, and operational excellence for enterprise-scale applications and services. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain modern database platforms using technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases
• Engineer database solutions that meet enterprise requirements for availability, scalability, performance, durability, security, and maintainability
• Define and implement reference architectures, deployment patterns, and engineering standards for modern database services
• Support deployment models across on-premises, virtualized, and containerized/Kubernetes platforms
• Design database services for high availability, disaster recovery, backup/restore, failover, and business continuity
• Integrate database platforms with core infrastructure services and enterprise systems like ServiceNow, compliance monitoring, and observability platforms
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong experience designing and operating enterprise database systems
• Hands-on experience with one or more modern database platforms such as MongoDB, Redis, GraphDB/Neo4j/Stardog, or other NoSQL/distributed databases
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, replication, backup/restore, and performance tuning for distributed databases
• Strong understanding of infrastructure dependencies across network, compute, storage, virtualization, and containers/Kubernetes
• Experience building or consuming APIs, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong knowledge of database security principles, access controls, encryption, and auditability
• Proficiency with scripting and automation using tools/languages such as Python, Bash, Terraform, or Ansible
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  
  

Desired skills:

• Experience with Kubernetes-based database deployments and operator-driven lifecycle management
• Experience supporting database platforms in hybrid cloud or multi-environment enterprise deployments
• Familiarity with SRE practices, platform engineering, and internal developer platform concepts
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or Datadog
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes
• Experience with graph data models, knowledge graph platforms, or semantic technologies
• Familiarity with data governance, regulated environments, or enterprise control frameworks
  
  

Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
