Description
SAIC has an immediate need for a Network Engineer supporting the Tactical Networks capabilities Based In-Service Engineering Activity (TACNET CB-ISEA) Technical Sustainment Support Service Area, located in San Diego, CA.

JOB DUTIES:
- Manage, customize, and optimize the SharePoint site structure, content, and layout to ensure it meets both business, IT, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Provide administrative, clerical, and technical support for IT systems and tools utilized by the program.
- Collaborate with network engineers to manage and track hardware and software inventory, configurations, and version controls.
- Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, such as workflows, system architecture diagrams, network guides, and SOPs.
- Monitor and update IT-related trackers or databases to ensure accurate records of system upgrades, maintenance schedules, and performance metrics.
- Manage ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent), log incidents, and track progress on IT-related support tasks.
- Take and distribute meeting minutes, order supplies, respond to customer/client/team inquiries, and other office administrative duties as required.
- Format and update project-related Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and technical reports to align with IT content standards.
- Support the project management team and network engineers by preparing, updating, and distributing programmatic artifacts such as system design reviews, test reports, and change requests.
- Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain IT asset turnover processes and verify compliance with Navy cybersecurity standards.
- Perform routine and non-routine tasks, including IT system audits and data validation exercises, as required.
- Proactively participate in developing recommendations for IT process improvements and identifying areas to streamline workflows.
- Interface directly with Government Civilian and Active Duty Navy personnel to coordinate IT resource requirements and address issues related to data systems and networks.
- Process visit requests, personnel travel, and expense reports while complying with IT security-based data submission protocols.
- Collaborate on software and hardware evaluation efforts, including assisting with testing and deployment plans.
- Assist in performing user access management and ensuring compliance with access control policies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.
- Must be able to obtain a Full DoD Secret Clearance. Active clearance preferred. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance.
- Excellent Written and presentation skills.
- Experience communicating and presenting to large customer groups and program leadership. Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience building complex documents, spreadsheets, slide decks and project files.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically.
- Experience with Travel & Expense software.
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing project demands and dependencies.
- Experience participating in strategic planning.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure and systems a plus (networks, routing/switching, servers, virtualization).
