Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking a Metrology Quality Specialist to support precision inspection, measurement programming, and quality documentation. This role requires hands-on experience with PC-DMIS and Hexagon CMM/metrology equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Contract to Hire OR Direct Hire
Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and maintain CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS
- Operate Hexagon CMM/metrology equipment to support production, first article, and validation inspections
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and specifications
- Perform inspections and communicate results to engineering and production teams
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
- Support CMM calibration, verification, and gauge R&R studies
- Assist with APQP, PPAP, FAI, control plans, and inspection plans
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Analyze inspection data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and supplier quality teams
- Support internal and external quality audits as needed
- Associate degree or bachelor s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- 3 years of hands-on CMM programming experience using PC-DMIS
- Experience with Hexagon CMM or Hexagon metrology equipment preferred
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
- Experience with precision measurement and metrology principles
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models
- Working knowledge of quality tools and continuous improvement methods
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with clear written and verbal communication skills
