Responsibilities:
- Lead or contribute to geometry control solutions, including 3D dimensional analysis and datum coordination to support functional and manufacturing build strategies.
- Lead tolerance analysis and GD&T development efforts with the design team, developing and sharing best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate concepts and detailed designs.
- Apply rigorous variation simulation modeling to solve challenging design problems.
- Contribute to robust measurement plan execution by supporting gage R&R studies with suppliers, authoring/reviewing MSOPs, and collaborating with metrology teams.
- BS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing 3D variation simulation analyses using software such as Siemens VA (VisVSA), 3DCS, or CETOL.
- 5 years of industry/academic experience.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.).
- Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance analysis, and associated metrology.
- Experience working on design teams throughout the product lifecycle (concept to start of production).
- 5 years of dimensional engineering experience, specifically with the application of GD&T and development of 3D variation simulation analyses (VisVSA preferred).
- 3 years of experience working on high-volume products such as consumer tech, automotive, aerospace, consumer appliances, or medical devices.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling (NX preferred).
- Experience creating scripts or algorithms to support measurement data analysis and assembly simulation requirements.
- Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R, and other statistical methods required to support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Experience using statistical software such as Minitab, Quantum XL, or JMP.
