Contract: W2 only,12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
Pay: $65/hour optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
Overview
This position involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing COBOL-based applications on mainframe systems. The role supports critical banking applications, including ACH digital onboarding and mainframe software optimization. Candidates will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in on-call support as they gain experience.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of COBOL-based applications on mainframe systems Perform system analysis, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation of mainframe applications Collaborate with business analysts and project managers to deliver high-quality software solutions Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to mainframe applications Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development Support level 2 & 3 on-call production support Engage in API development, including using Z/OS Connect, Linux (Red Hat), and Oracle

- Operating systems: IBM z/OS, AIX, Windows
- Mainframe: COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, Easytrieve, Endevor, CA7, Control M, BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline
- Relational databases: DB2
- Experience with Fiserv’s PEP ACH system
- API development experience, including but not limited to using Z/OS Connect, Linux (Red Hat), Oracle
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of mainframe applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to standards
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe development
- No Education Requirements
- Experience with Fiserv’s PEP ACH system
- ACH digital onboarding experience
- Financial industry background
