Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs on IBM z/OS mainframe systems.
- Create, modify, and optimize JCL scripts for batch job execution.
- Work extensively with DB2 for SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Debug and troubleshoot application-level issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and QA for end-to-end delivery.
- Perform unit testing and support integration and system testing activities.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Provide production support and resolve incidents related to mainframe applications.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems.
- Strong expertise in JCL and DB2, including SQL and stored procedures.
- Experience with CICS for online transaction processing.
- Proficiency in TSO/ISPF and mainframe debugging tools.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of COBOL programs.
- Knowledge of mainframe utilities such as SORT and IDCAMS.
- Exposure to DevOps tools in mainframe environments.
- Strong technical expertise in mainframe technologies and batch processing.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Effective collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
