Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe Lead/Developer to design, develop, and maintain large-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in COBOL and related technologies, along with the ability to support modernization initiatives and lead development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive development and maintenance of applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2/IMS
• Lead solution design, perform code reviews, and make technical decisions (Lead role)
• Conduct complex impact analysis and ensure high-quality deliverables
• Work within Agile and DevOps frameworks for mainframe environments
• Mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, and production support teams
• Own end-to-end delivery, including development, testing, and release readiness
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize performance
• Participate in legacy modernization and migration initiatives (mainframe to Java/cloud)
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Assembler (nice to have)
• Exposure to mainframe modernization tools and strategies
• Strong communication and leadership skills (especially for Lead role
