We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer AI, Cloud Native Data Engineering to join a high-performing team focused on building a modern AI-enabled data platform. This role involves developing next-generation data solutions in a fast-paced environment, supporting large-scale data analysis, and contributing to a hybrid cloud data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and operationalize modern AI-enabled data capabilities on Google Cloud to ingest, transform, and distribute data for big data applications
- Leverage AI/agentic frameworks to automate data management, governance, and data consumption (data pipelines, data quality, metadata, compliance)
- Collaborate within a matrix organization with principal engineers, product managers, and data engineers to roadmap, plan, and deliver data capabilities
- Contribute to migration from on-premises systems to cloud environments
- Lead design and hands-on implementation of modern data processing capabilities
- Experience working in a large data environment
- Demonstrated recent experience with AI tools and frameworks such as:
- LangChain
- LangGraph / ADK
- Agentic frameworks
- RAG / GraphRAG
- MCP for agent-based data capabilities
- 5 years of data engineering experience with hands-on cloud data solutions (Spark-based ingestion and processing)
- 3 years of experience with data lakehouse architecture and design
- Hands-on experience with:
- Python / PySpark
- Kafka
- Airflow
- Google Cloud Storage
- BigQuery
- DataProc
- Cloud Composer
- Experience developing data flows using Kafka, Flink, and Spark Streaming
- Experience using AI to auto-generate data engineering code, including context engineering and prompt engineering
- Strong background in cloud-based data lakes, warehouses, and automated data pipelines
- Public cloud certifications (Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, or AWS Specialty Data Analytics)
- Experience with web-based UI development using React and Node.js
