About The Role
TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Fire Alarm / Low Voltage Technician to support the rebuild of its Nashville market and lead commercial voice, data, and fire alarm projects across the region. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled technician ready to take ownership of installations, mentor junior team members, and deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation and service of low voltage systems: Fire Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call, and Intercom.
- Program, start-up, troubleshoot, and commission new systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Supervise and guide teams of 2-4 technicians on-site.
- Communicate clearly with clients and project leads.
- Perform inspections and ensure code compliance.
- Respond to emergency service calls and participate in on-call rotation.
- Maintain accurate documentation and project reports.
- 3 years of experience in structured cabling, conduit installation, or low voltage systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing small teams.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using hand tools (punch, snips, scissors).
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Technical expertise in:
- Cat6 Cabling
- Access Control
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Cable Installation
- Experience with nurse call systems and intercoms.
- Familiarity with lifts and ladders for elevated work.
- Strong computer and troubleshooting skills.
- Stability: Over 50 years in business with zero layoffs-even during the 2008 crash and the pandemic.
