We are seeking a skilled Kong API Developer with strong experience in API development, integration, and API gateway management using Kong Gateway. The ideal candidate will design, develop, secure, and manage APIs while implementing scalable API management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage APIs using modern RESTful architecture.
- Implement and configure APIs through Kong API Gateway.
- Develop plugins and customize Kong gateway policies when required.
- Integrate backend services and microservices with Kong.
- Implement API security using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, and rate limiting.
- Manage API lifecycle including development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Work with DevOps teams to automate API deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot API gateway issues and optimize performance.
- Document APIs and maintain API standards and governance.
- Strong experience with Kong API Gateway / Kong Enterprise
- Experience with REST APIs, Microservices Architecture
- Knowledge of Lua scripting for Kong plugin development
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions)
- Knowledge of Postman / Swagger / OpenAPI specifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies
- Experience with API analytics and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
