Title: IT Business Analyst Data Analytics

Location: Newark, NJ Work Category: Hybrid (In-office 2-3 days a week)

ComTec is looking for a IT Business Analyst Data Analytics with full software life cycle experience including requirements gathering, design, data analytics, testing, and training. The candidate must be able to execute workshops to gather, refine, and estimate user stories, and conduct GAP analysis. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, high sense of urgency, highly organized and keep meticulous records.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and document business requirements using interviews, workshops, and user stories.
• Develop and document User Stories, to-be process flows and work collaboratively with development team to design a solution that will meet the business requirements.
• Develop wireframes or prototypes based on business input/requirements to visualize concepts and to produce requirements for development.
• Document use cases, business/system/functional requirements, requirements traceability matrix and test cases.
• Work with different departments across the company on time sensitive Energy data analysis that help summarize the business s goals, initiatives, customer performance, etc.
• Analyze and map Business processes to identify optimization opportunities.
• Creates process flowcharts, diagrams, drawings and other related documentation. Creates technical workflows using different modelling techniques.
• Conduct business process/systems analysis through user story workshops.
• Analyze current business processes and document AS-IS business process flows.
• Work with business stakeholders in developing TO-BE business process flows.
• Own functional specifications and serve as a functional expert with a deep understanding of business needs on product capabilities by defining business requirements, performing quality assurance & define reporting and alerting requirements.
• Participate in user requirement sessions to identify opportunities for process improvement and technical solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Assist in developing business cases, project plans, and estimates.
• Assist in the Software Design. Work with technical experts and business stakeholders to iron out the details.
• Creating Test plans by incorporating business process flows and non-functional requirements
• Review system cases prepared by the testing team.
• Create and execute system test cases.
• Design test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by considering all possible scenarios.
• Assist in Testing. Provide the user acceptance criteria and work with developers and testers to ensure that all the criteria met.
• Work closely with business team as part of UAT testing.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system functions and use.
  
  

Requirements:

• 8 years of experience working as an IT business analyst
• 7 years' experience with elicitation and documentation of business and functional requirements
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in the Energy & Utilities industry.
• Good understanding of all stages of Waterfall methodology Viz; requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to turn complex raw data into a useful summary
• Experience with Data Analytics, SQL, MS Access, PowerBI
• Proficiency with business analysis techniques and tools such as UML or BPMN.
• Understanding of and experience in IT project management methodologies, requirements management, quality assurance and IT processes.
• Experience in developing Test plans and Manual Testing.
• Good experience with design and implementation of technical environments using various technologies and languages.
• Must have experience developing AS-IS and TO-BE business process flows.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes, the ability to identify, capture, and translate business requirements.
• Basic programming language knowledge, understanding of databases.
• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of Energy & Utilities IT Systems, Clean Energy and Energy efficiency programs is a plus
