Job Title: Ingres Database Administrator (Ingres DBA)

Location: CA

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Ingres DBA to manage and optimize Ingres database environments for mission-critical applications. The role involves installation, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade Ingres DB Server.
• Monitor database health, performance, and optimize queries.
• Manage backups, restores, replication, and DR plans.
• Perform data migrations, patching, and version upgrades.
• Ensure database security, user access control, and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support application teams.
• Maintain documentation and performance reports.
  
  

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Actian Ingres / OpenIngres.
• Strong SQL, performance tuning, and command-line tools.
• Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience in backup/recovery and HA environments.
• Migration experience (Ingres to PostgreSQL/Oracle) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  
  

Preferred

• ITIL environment exposure.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
• Prior enterprise client experience (CTS optional).
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field.
