Description

CEC Facilities is a Texas-based specialty contractor that provides comprehensive electrical infrastructure, mechanical, technology, and telecom solutions for mission-critical facilities, high-tech industries, and commercial environments. CEC Facilities is looking for an IT Support Technician with hands-on experience setting up laptops from scratch - installing software, configuring user accounts, and ensuring a smooth Windows 11 experience. The ideal candidate is a practical problem solver who can think critically and troubleshoot desktop issues without relying solely on scripts or checklists. Laptop Provisioning & Setup: - Configure new Windows 11 devices from scratch, including OS setup, drivers, security settings, and updates. - Install and configure common/business software (e.g., productivity tools, collaboration apps, security agents). - Create and manage user accounts and profiles; ensure proper permissions and access. Desktop Support & Troubleshooting: - Diagnose and resolve Windows 11 issues (performance, updates, drivers, network connectivity, printing, profiles). - Support end users with login issues, software errors, and device configuration questions. - Document solutions, known issues, and repeatable procedures to improve team efficiency. Quality & Process: - Follow and refine setup standards to ensure consistency across devices. - Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution. - Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying root causes and proposing fixes. Must Haves: - Experience: ~1-3 years in IT support, desktop support, or similar hands-on role. - Windows 11 setup and configuration (out-of-box setup, updates, drivers, security settings). - Software installation and configuration; familiarity with common enterprise apps. - User account provisioning and profile management. - Desktop troubleshooting (hardware/software), basic networking (Wi-Fi, DNS, VPN), and peripherals (printers, docks).

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
