In this role you will have the opportunity to;
Design, develop, implement, verify and test algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
The group is focused on developing low-level inner loop controllers that will reside on FPGAs (like TVC controllers, gimbal controllers, etc). Those algorithms are developed in CoreSim, in Simulink and autocoded into HDL code to reside on the FPGA. This position requires a ship.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering field from an accredited school.
Good communication skills.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink; Experience with programming languages such as Python, C/C
This position requires a ship.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of classical controls such as PID controllers, stability analysis and Monte Carlo analysis; experience with 3-phase motors a major plus!

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $68,000 - $119,830. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
