This role involves hands-on lab-based work focused on assembly, inspection, equipment operation, documentation, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
Technicians will:
- Perform hands-on fiber assembly for prototype products
- Use tools such as microscopes, crimpers, stripping tools, epoxies, and precision assembly equipment
- Conduct visual inspections and quality checks at assigned stations
- Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and standard operating procedures
- Document production results, measurements, and build notes using Excel or internal systems
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and escalate defects to engineering teams
- Rotate across stations to build full product assemblies end-to-end
- Work in a lab and manufacturing environment (not an office-based role)
No prior fiber experience required—training will be provided. Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong mechanical or electromechanical assembly background (e.g., cable harness, PCB assembly, medical devices, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or machine assembly)
- Experience using small hand tools such as crimpers, cutters, microscopes, calipers, or tweezers
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and accurately document work
